Online Workshop Code of Conduct 

  • Online workshops must be booked in advanced and accessed through the link provided to you.The tutor will use the workshop time to answer any questions you have about the subject of the workshop, and work through any difficulties you are having with the work.
  • Remember, the workshops will cover the content you indicated, and content related to the subject in which you are enrolled. Students booking in for a Workshop must come prepared with their questions and an attempt at their work before entering the Workshop.
  • Please keep in mind that workshops are not make up for missed lessons and therefore students’ expectation should be managed by reminding them that:
    • Students must review their Theory Book to the best of their abilities before attending the Workshop.
    • Tutors are not teachers and do not have the depth of knowledge and understanding required to teach the theory content.

How to join

  1. Ensure your computer and camera are set up in an open, quiet area of the house, and that you have adequate space to work. If you are working in your bedroom or study, leave the door open. Make sure that the clothes you are wearing are appropriate (like something you would wear to study at the library).
  2. Get any work that you wish to discuss in the workshop ready, for example, your Matrix books, as well as your pens or pencils and anything else you may need for the workshop like additional paper, a calculator, or a ruler.
  3. Click on the link that were sent as part of the workshop booking confirmation to join the Zoom meeting. You must use your real name in Zoom so the tutor can identify you and admit you into the meeting.
How to participate
The tutor will conduct the workshop and address any questions or difficulties you raise. Please note:
  • Your camera must be on at all times so you can engage with the tutor.
  • Your microphone should be on so you can discuss the work with the tutor.
  • With the Zoom setup on your computer, you can use Speaker view, to see the tutor and any document that they share with you.
Etiquette 
  • You must be respectful of the tutor.
  • You must always behave politely and respectfully, and only use language appropriate for the classroom.
  • You must follow the tutor’s instructions and directions.
  • Your camera and microphone must be on.
Inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated. The tutor may choose to remove you from the lesson at their discretion if you fail to comply with any of the above, or if your behaviour is otherwise deemed to be uncooperative, rude, disruptive, or unproductive.
